Planning for New Orleans/Tammany Trace Ride

March 3-4: New Orleans and Tammany Trace Trip is ‘go for launch’.

March 3 Saturday’s “Eat the Big Easy” Guided Bike Tour in New Orleans has been booked followed up on Sunday 3/4 with a ride along Tammany Trace, a Rails-to-Trails route starting in Mandeville through Abita Springs and onto Covington. Perchance there will be breweries and creameries along the way to spur you on.

After our eating tour on Saturday afternoon, feel free to drive to Mandeville, check into rooms and then maybe head out to hear some live music Saturday night. If you have not signed up with Rosalie yet, let her know by Feb 19th if you plan on joining the SBS crew for this overnight trip. (Rosalie, rcstromme@att.net)

Saturday 3/3 ride starts at 11am for a 4-hour guided bike and eating tour around downtown New Orleans. Cost of 4-hour tour including Creole food and waiter tips at various restaurants around town is $84 (It’s $89 if you don’t have a bike and need to use one of their cruisers). Alcoholic drinks during this ride will be on your own dime. Folks need to be able to eat pork, seafood, gluten, nuts; any special dietary needs must be advised in advance.

If you are already signed up with me to go on the Saturday ride (there are 11 of us signed up so far) and you have not yet made any room reservations/arrangements, book your accomodations now. Suggestions in Mandeville are Comfort Suites, Marvilla (www.marvilla.com) or de la Bleau (www.delableau.com).

If you just want to ride Tammany Trace on Sunday, plan on joining us then; details will follow about meet up points, times, distances, etc.
