Thursday – October 30th – 6:00 p.m. Haunted Bicycle Ride: Beginning at the Fairhope Civic Center (west end of parking area, near Church St.), we’ll be riding around Fairhope taking in the Halloween decorations. Wear a costume if you like and make sure that you have working lights on your bicycle.
Saturday – Nov 1st – Baldwin Bike Fest at the Foley Heritage Park: Routes include 3, 10, 28, and 71 mile options. See their website for info. http://baldwinbikefest.com/
Sunday – Nov 2nd – Mobile Streets Alive: We’ll meet-up at Cream and Sugar in Mobile (351 George Street in the heart of Mobile’s Oakleigh Historic). Sunday – Nov 9th – Post-Film Festival Ride 3:00 p.m.: Beginning at McSherry’s in downtown Fairhope and riding around the downtown streets and sidewalks. For info on the Fairhope Film Festival, see their website: http://www.fairhopefilmfestival.org/
Tuesday – Nov 11th – Veteran’s Day: LONG Bike Ride and Sunset Service: Bike Ride at 3:00 p.m. beginning at the bluff above the Fairhope Pier, beside the Marietta Johnson statue. We’ll ride all the way to Mullet Point Park and back (16 miles total). Afterwards (5:45 p.m.), a sunset prayer service will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial fountain in Henry George Park on the bluff. Bring a lawn chair for the service and the sunset.
Saturday – Nov 15th – Fairhope Round-up Day Ride: Before the ride, you’re invited to attend an outdoor play at the Colony Cemetery, staged by the Fairhope Museum of History. We’ll attend the 11:00 show. (Admission to the play is $10 per person with tickets available in advance at the museum and walk-ons permitted if the event is not sold out. For more information, call the museum at 929-1471.) CLICK HERE for more Round-up Day info. After the play, (12:00’ish) we’ll ride from the Fairhope Civic Center out toward the east side of Fairhope. Think lunch somewhere in the mix!
Sunday – Nov 16th – Fairhope Pier to Grand Hotel 3:00 p.m.: Meeting near the Marietta Johnson statue on the bluff overlooking the Fairhope Pier, we will ride south along the Eastern Shore Trail toward Point Clear’s Grand Hotel. This is an 8-10 mile route, depending on side-trips.
Sunday – Nov 23rd – No ride planned, but you might enjoy the Fairhope Christmas Open House in downtown, 1 – 5 p.m., with live entertainment and refreshments throughout town.
Sunday – Nov 30th – Work off the Turkey Ride 2:00 p.m.: Beginning at Pelican Point (at the mouth of Weeks Bay), we’ll ride to Mullet Point (5 miles), then on to the Grand Hotel (5 more miles), and then…. see how it goes, but, maybe, on to the Fairhope Pier (3 more miles). Then back! Perhaps a 26 mile roundtrip route, or less, if you like.
